This villa shows off the stone mason’s artisanship. Using a dry stack technique, the native stone is carefully cut and fitted creating walls that make it appear as if no mortar was used in its construction. As you sit in OCEANA’s infinity edge pool St. Thomas, framed by the outer cays, completes the horizon. In the foreground, all of Great Cruz Bay and a fleet of sailboats bobbing at their moorings are visible just a stone’s throw away. (Our first guest joked about seeing if she could throw her return airline ticket that far.) The interior is oriented around a great room with a dramatic cathedral ceiling framed in cumaru and manchichi, which are beautiful, sustainable tropical hardwoods. The result is natural elegance, a theme repeated throughout the structure, furnishings and surrounding spaces.
